The Bid Hotline provides consulting services and construction bid information of public improvement projects for the City of San José. These projects include new construction, improvements and renovations of public buildings, airport infrastructure, parks and recreation facilities, streets and transportation systems, traffic signals, street lights, sanitary sewers and storm sewers.

A list of projects for which we are currently soliciting consulting service or construction bids can be obtained by clicking on  Bid List.   Generally, Plans and Specifications for these projects may be purchased at the vendor listed on the Bid List detail page.

Plans and Specifications may also be viewed at the Office of the City Clerk. If you have questions about a specific project, contact the project manager listed with each project.

A Planholder List for projects listed on the Current Bid List may be obtained by clicking on Planholder List.

New Business Opportunities with
San Jose's Terminal Area Improvement Program (TAIP)

Hensel Phelps Construction Co. has established a public website for firms interested in pursuing subcontracting opportunities associated with the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport Terminal Area Improvement Program (TAIP).

This website includes up-to-date information concerning the various elements of the Program, including competitive bidding opportunities and results. It also includes documentation vital to understanding the work and its bidding requirements.

Bid Openings

Generally, bids are scheduled to be opened at 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays by the City Clerk. Sealed bids must be filed with the Office of the City Clerk, 2nd Floor, City Hall Wing of San José, 200 East Santa Clara Street, San José, California 95113-1905. The City Clerk will accept sealed bids until the time scheduled for bid opening at which time the City Clerk will open and declare the aggregate bid of each bidder.

Bid results are generally posted by 12 noon on the day after bids are opened and can be obtained by clicking on Bid Results.


Standard Specifications and Standard Details

These documents can also be purchased in book form from the Public Works staff on the first floor of City Hall. The Standard Specifications books are $30 each, and the Standard Details books with addenda are $10 each.
